An iconic landmark of Shatin, the 7km-long Shing Mun River runs from Tai Wai through downtown Shatin and eventually extends into Tolo Harbour. A traffic-free bike path winds next to the river, allowing scenic strolls or bike rides along the coastline to Tolo Harbour before reaching Tai Mei Tuk. The River is also a popular haven for water sports like rowing, canoeing, kayaking and the world-famous festive dragon boat races.
Sha Tin Town Hall offers comprehensive facilities and presents a variety of cultural performances and exhibitions. It is home to the largest and most popular cultural events centre in the district.

The Hong Kong Heritage Museum offers a unique blend of the Territory’s history, art and culture via a wide variety of programmes that cater for the public’s disparate interests. Take MTR to Che Kung Temple Station. From Exit A, head towards the direction of Shing Mun River and cross the bridge. Walk for approximately 6 minutes to the Hong Kong Heritage Museum.
